O que é e como usar Storyboards em seus cursos online
Para nós que trabalhamos com criação de cursos online, seja para clientes ou cursos complexos, aprender a usar o storyboard será essencial, pois ele simplifica muito do processo.
Com ele, diversas pessoas envolvidas no projeto podem olhar para um mesmo documento e saber o que deve fazer, dar feedback e se envolver, sem a necessidade de múltiplos documentos. Claro, para o profissional de design instrucional, o storyboard é essencial também para o planejamento do seu curso.
De forma bem direta: o que é storyboard? Do inglês, quadro de histórias, o storyboard é um documento visual de como será contada a sua história. Ele vem do cinema ou da animação, onde se projeta quadro a quadro o que acontecerá na cena. Por exemplo, no cinema, o storyboard é usado para mostrar o enquadramento das cenas na hora da captação, quais são os personagens na tela e o que estará sendo dito naquele momento.
Na animação, o storyboard pode ser quadro a quadro qual é a animação que será feita. O personagem animado vai pular ou vai agachar?
Repare: essa ferramenta, então, vai contar para o animador o que ele tem que animar. O desenhista o que ele tem que desenhar. O sonografista o que ele tem que compor. E por aí vai. Não sou um especialista em cinema e animação.
Em cursos online, um storyboard serve para projetar, tela por tela do seu curso, quais são os componentes que irão aparecer naquela tela. Por exemplo, se a aula é um vídeo, um texto, algum elemento de clique e arraste, um podcast, etc.
Dependendo da complexidade do projeto, você pode ter designers instrucionais, animadores, produtores de vídeo e até programadores usando o mesmo storyboard. Portanto, a maravilha dessa ferramenta é que você pode criar um documento único para diversas pessoas envolvidas no projeto.
Por que usar um storyboard?
Antes de entrarmos na criação de um storyboard, é importante entendermos o porquê de fazermos um em primeiro lugar.
A questão principal é que: você não precisará sempre de um. Um storyboard é mais útil quando se tem várias pessoas atuando no mesmo projeto ou quando é um curso muito complexo. Por exemplo, talvez você não precise de um storyboard para um curso como este, no qual só temos vídeos curtos e umas frases. Para este curso de storyboard eu, ironicamente, não usei um. Criei um documento no word com a ementa e o roteiro, que eu estou lendo agora.
Contudo, para o meu curso de Primeiros Passos de Design Instrucional, que envolvia diversos tipos de objetos educacionais, um storyboard foi quase mandatório.
Além disso, um storyboard é muito útil para trabalhar em equipe e economizar tempo em reexplicar conteúdos. Por exemplo, mesmo que sejam duas pessoas trabalhando num projeto de cursos simples, mas ele pode durar semanas ou meses, um storyboard vai te ajudar a planejar e evitar refações, uma vez que todo o conteúdo estará documentado. Claro, para isso você pode optar por uma versão mais simples de um storyboard, como em um arquivo de doc mesmo.
Em um storyboard, você mostra quais serão as animações, onde fica o vídeo, o teste, o botão de próximo, etc. Existem storyboards mais complexos que permitem inclusive a inserção de um protótipo de animação, e outros nos quais você insere um bloco colorido e diz “aqui vai animação”. Depende do que você quer mostrar e, claro, do grau de capacidade do seu cliente de imaginar.
Eu tenho cliente, por exemplo, que se apavora se eu mostro um bloco cinza e digo “aqui vai um vídeo”. A pessoa não entende. Então, para esse cliente, tem que ser um storyboard de alta fidelidade.
